There were also two gorgeous daughters to care for. A very worthwhile and rewarding task, but university degrees are almost as costly as aeroplanes though lasting a whole lot longer.

Nowadays I scarcely notice that aeroplanes and farmers are no longer so big in my life. The wonderful thing is though, I still have a passion for life and love what I am doing. This time around however, I recognise and grasp the financial rewards that are available to us and to all who join us in this extraordinary opportunity.

The real joy , is being part of a team that can help spread these rewards to all those who join our team.

Loving what we are doing will continue to be, for this team, as it has always been for me, the guiding light for it is certainly the light that shows us the way onward and upward to all that we can BE, DO and HAVE.

I ran my own business in the Agricultural Aviation Industry (often referred to as Aerial Spraying although, in fact, we did a lot of other things too, like fertilising, seeding etc.). I was fairly successful, but less so when it came to building wealth through accumulated savings. Money simply wasn’t my main motivation: as long as there was enough for a comfortable life in the present, the future could look after itself.. Which it didn’t of course.

I loved what I was doing - flying the aircraft and helping farmers to grow profitable, pest-free crops. That was my motivation and it overcame concerns about the costs of doing this sort of business. And they were considerable; apart from the usual day-to-day expenses there was a constant need for new aircraft as the business grew or to replace “pranged” ones! Things like that did happen.

Sitting pinned and somewhat stunned in this wreckage as 400 litres of avgas exploded into a blazing inferno around me, it was quite obvious that I was not having a good day.
